| School Description |
The University of Notre Dame is a Catholic academic community of higher learning, dedicated to the pursuit and sharing of truth for its own sake.
As a Catholic university one of its distinctive goals is to provide a forum where thought may intersect with all the forms of knowledge found in the arts, sciences, professions, and every other area of human scholarship and creativity.
Notre Dame is organized into four undergraduate colleges: Arts and Letters, Science, Engineering, and the Mendoza College of Business, the School of Architecture, the Law School, the Graduate School, 10 major research institutes, more than 40 centers and special programs, and the University Library system.
The Graduate School, established in 1918, encompasses 43 master's and 22 doctoral degree programs in and among 28 University departments and institutes. |
